Plxply
Hello, I have recently decided that I would like to install OSX on my PC, I went and researched on the Internet before downloading I went to an apple store and bought OSX, then I noticed how long it was to patch it yourself so I just got Kalways 10.5.2 install dvd since I already own OSX I thought that I would not matter. So I happily burned the Disc and I booted up I got a error (Sorry Cant Remember what it was) I looked it up on google and noticed that I would not work with a IDE drive so because I didn't want another DVD drive I bought this (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139071) I plugged it in and all was well, my computer booted off the DVD and I partitioned my drive sucessfully. I continued through until it just finished the disk check. When the bar is about 1/4 of the way through it would just seem to crash I would leave it for about 1 hour and It still would have not moved, I tried once again and I had exactly the same problem. I did not change anything in the customize section cause most guides that I read said not to touch anything unless you know what your doing My Spec: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 2GB RAM ECS P965T-A Nvidia Geforce 7600GS 512mb Western Digital WD3200KS-00PFB0 320GB Thanks for your help in advance, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121382-crashing-in-middle-of-install/ Share on other sites
Plxply
I have managed to fix the problem myself, For the Benefit of people searching this in the future I had to change a the "SATA Controller" setting from IDE Mode to ACHI+IDE, although if you have ready installed XP and change this setting I believe you will have boot problems but on Vista SP1 it automaticlly installed all of the SATA drivers and worked perfectly.
