annunaki
The reason your hard drive may not be detected is because most install disks do not have the latest kexts loaded. For nForce boards, found on some HP dv6000 series notebooks, the only install disks found to work have been iDeneb, Leo4All v2/v3 and the latest Zephyroth. I chose to go with iDeneb as it was Leo 10.5.4. I too ran into the dreaded "still waiting for root device". There were ways around this, some seem pretty goofy, but for my system it was necessary. Take a look at the following post: Leopard install on AMD nForce notebook. So many people are running into these common issues and are each asking independantly on the board. There ought to be a sticky post to reference these common issues with this type system.
