Slow SATA speeds

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums, but have been running Zephyroth for about a month now.

 

Here's the thing, I'm getting very slow i/o access to my drives. Randomly, when downloading anything even a torrent, I get a grey screen, with a message "please reboot, etc".

 

This is ONLY when doing i/o intensive stuff..

 

I'm running a XBench test, and I see Uncached Reads: 0.65MB/Sec & Uncached Write 1.39MB /sec

 

I'm suspecting I have a bad sata driver or something.

 

This is a M2N32 Deluxe Motherboardw with an Nfoce 590 chipset.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
