Hardware Overview: Model Name: Mac Pro Model Identifier: MacPro3,1 Processor Speed: 2.13 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 4 L2 Cache: 8 MB Memory: 4 GB Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz Graphics by NVIDIA: Chipset Model: Graphics by NVIDIA Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0402 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: NVinject 0.2.0 I have been filing in the gaps and have been pretty successful in getting the machine up and running. The problem i am having now is this... When i attach a USB or firewire external drive it does not mount as a drive. the usb keyboard and mouse work fine but the drives wont mount. even a usb flash drive will not mount. They do not even show up in disc utility. however i can see them in the system profiler. here is what the system profiler looks like with a USB thumb drive plugged in. DCC Posted August 12, 2008 Author Share Posted August 12, 2008 I have made some progress after reading a few threads i turned off the legacy USB support in the bios and restarted still no luck but then when i restarted again with the drive's (usb flash and a 1394 drive) connected it booted up with the drive's mounted. i ejected and reconnected the drive's several times and everything looks good so far. I will keep you informed of any changes.
