kampretkampungan
please help! i just installed Kalyway 10.5.2 Intel/AMD on my PC, everything seems well. the installation finished, it can boot quickly, and i can even play some movies with VLC. but the problem is, i cannot write anything on my disks, even the mac's partition. when i clicked "Get info" on the disk icon context menu on the desktop, the permission is "You can only read", even it is the partition where leo installed. here are my specs : Athlon X2 4000+ ECS A780GM-A (AMD 780G + SB700) 1GB RAM 1x 320GB SATA HDD (AHCI, of course) 1x IDE DVD-RW drive i cannot write anything, i cannot install any kexts, so how can i solve this? derekreid
Can you click the lock in the "Get Info" window so that you can change who has permissions? kampretkampungan
haven't tried it yet. i didn't see any "lock" there. will look for it soon. i found that the "You can only read" permission is only on the HFS+ and NTFS partitions, not the FAT32. i can write to the FAT32 partition without problems. by the way, does the permission has anything to do with kexthelper? i tried installing some kexts with kexthelper, and the button "easy install" is disabled, so does the "Run" button. does it means i cannot install any kexts? please help. i'm really a newbie at mac. kampretkampungan
i found the "lock" button, and i can change the permission. thanks. but, i still cannot install any kexts. the "easy install" on the kexthelper still not active, so does the "run" button. anyone knows why that is? and how can i install the kexts? derekreid
You can install kexts manually from the terminal or even from the GUI, a program isn't required. There are probably better explanations available using the search than what I can do, let me know if you find it.
