LVNeptune
Well last night I was on IRC and JaS assured me (*slaps JaS*) that I could update to 10.5.4 from 10.5.2 with no problems. I went through the update and about 5-10 minutes I received a kernel panic. I said OK, signed back on IRC on my laptop and apparently he thought I said 10.5.3 to 10.5.4. Anyway, I had to boot the DVD and rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUManagement.kext After that I rebooted and it hung at "BSD root" I figured from the get go it had something to do with the AppleIOFamily.kext but I ignored that and attempted a reinstall. Well, that didn't work either. I booted from dvd and did a rd=disk0s2 -v and that booted using some 9.2.0 kernel. After I got in the system I downloaded http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...t=0&start=0 Kext then copied that over the current one. Rebooted and booted like a charm! Now I am going to follow another guide that says to leave the /S/L/E/ open and delete AppleIntelCPUMangement.kext as soon as it shows up. Hopefully I don't have any issues again. Posting this so hopefully google gets it and it may help other users with similar issues.
