Hey guys. I'm new to the OSx86 scene and since I've got an iPhone coming in a week or so I decided that I'd get it running so I can use the SDK. I'm having a couple of problems though. The installation seems to go fine, but after I reboot I'm not getting OS X. Here's the hardware I'm using.

Core 2 Duo E6600

EVGA 680i SLI

EVGA 8800GT

WD Caviar SATA

2GB Corsair DDR2-800

The first attempt got me my three partitions (HFS+ and 2 FAT for Ubuntu and Windows later) and the install seemed to go ok. Reboot left me with "Insert System Disk Error". I installed Ubuntu, hoping GRUB would pick up the OS X install, but it didn't. I formatted the entire disk, reinstalled and am getting the "Insert System Disk Error" again. These were my Customize settings on the latest install.

iAtkos v4i Main System

Darwin, Darwin X86 Non-EFI

Kernel 9.2.0 nForce Core Non-EFI

NVInject for 512MB

nForce SATA

Did I forget something, or install the wrong thing? I was trying to go through an iAtkos v1 tutorial but it didn't really help because they have different features. Also, if I want a vanilla kernel in the future (which I think I'll need) won't I need to use EFI? Again, I've never done this before so if I'm wrong on all of this please let me know :thumbsup_anim:. Thanks for any help.

I tried Kalyway 10.5.2 but it either doesn't like my SATA disk or doesn't like my nForce board. Either way I'll have to wait now, about 15 minutes ago my computer stopped booting with my 8800GT in. I've got an X1600Pro to replace it with, but I really don't want to install ATI drivers and have to uninstall and install Nvidia drivers in a week and a half .

I better go check how long the warranty was on that thing...

Edit: It's a lifetime warranty . Now I'm not too sad.
