Cauldronborn
Hi, I am new to the forums and hoping to put together my first hackintosh build very soon. I'm way over do on a new Windows box and and thought I'd go all out on a new machine. If I can manage to get it to run a respectable build of OSX Leo then all the better. I'm pretty particular about components and am hoping you guys can help me here. So far I've got a couple hd's and a new Q9300 proc. I am very interested in Shuttle and SFF systems and have been looking at the following barebones system SX48P2 E. It pretty much has all the features I want, quad core, 1066 DDR2 memory (OC'd), 1600FSB up to 8Gb, Gb ethernet, and 2xPCI-E x16 slots (CrossfireX support). I am not much of a PC gamer (stick to mostly consoles) but I like having the option if I pickup a cheap card or something. Does anyone have any experience with this and if so what have you used in your build and what problems/solutions did you come up with? I'd really like this to be as compatible as possible. I'm not 100% set on the Shuttle but would like something similar (Micro-ATX would be easier but not really what I'm looking for). From http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...#Shuttle_SP35P2 it looks like the last gen version is not far off but I would really like the audio to work. I could put another audio card in there but that would eat up precious slots of course. Cauldronborn
I'm leaning more towards the ones listed for the main reason of more memory, capability of 1600fsb (eventually upgrade the proc but I've got the 9300 right now), and crossfireX support.
