cbman
Hi everyone. First I would like to say the amount of work and support everyone is doing is astonishing - keep up the great work. Before I ask my question I'll list my hardware in my machine I'm using for this Asus M6N (not E) 2.0Ghz Pentium M (400Mhz Bus) 1GB DDR400 Memory (2x512) - Max this model supports due to Chipset Setup (the e version could take 2GB) 100GB Hitachi 7200RPM PATA Hard Drive (65GB Partition XP/15GB Partion MacOSX HSF+) Optiarc (NEC/Sony) 8x DVD/RW DL Intel 855PM Chipset Intel 2915ABG Wireless Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet (5788) Sigmatel C-Media Audio (4 Speaker Setup) 1280x800 LCD ATI Radeon 9600/9700M 64MB (Depending on the drivers shows up as 9600 or 9700 (is a 9600 but does work at 9700 Clock/Mem Speed)) I have been actively playing around with two different Releases of 10.5 and have been running into a few issues. Kalyway 10.5.2 Installer works perfectly off DVD - Post Install Hangs At A Buffers Message Unless I have Selected The Compatibility Patches For Older SSE2 CPU's - When It Gets Into The OS - USB Fails To Work Even After Applying The Patched .kext file. (Network Doesn't Work But I Don't Care About That At The Moment.) - Machine Fails to sleep or shutdown (Sleep and Speedstep Kernel Tried) but will restart fine. Wireless works on open access points with the fixed 2200 driver (open access points) Leo4Allv2 Installer works perfectly off DVD - Post Install Works - Some minor errors on loading (hardware extention's) but not enought to cause it to fail to boot. USB works - Machine fails to sleep or shutdown (9.2 Kernel Used) will restart fine Wireless works with the fixed 2200 driver (Open access points.) In both cases iCal and some other programs fail to load (from what I have dug up its something to do with the lack of SSE3?) Has anyone got any asus M6N or M6Ne or M6Na or (there's also a W** and A** version with the same or similar hardware) working with the programs after install. Even if its a previous release (10.X It doesn't matter). I've seen some videos of a guy with an M6 showing OS X running but no indication if its just "running" or actually working. Sorry, I've been searching the forums for M6NE information also but for what I've found its compatibility with osx is pretty bad. I'm trying the 10.4. 6 (Tiger) since its older it might support old hardware better.
