FiredogGuy
Hello everyone, I need a little help on what kernel to install. I also need help on what patches are good for my system. I have an ASUS P5E ,with a Core 2 Duo 6400, 4GB of DDR2 1066, Nvidia 7900 GS,and a 160 GB SATA 2 drive just for the MAC installation. I installed and succeeded with 10.5.2 both vanila and defualt sleep kernels. Now I tried each of them separately, and they worked untill I installed either the combo update or the 10.5.4 from MAC update. Mac update says I have to restart my computer ,and when I do ,it says I still need to restart. Combo update + the kalyway patch with the vanila kernel says I have to restart. When I come back from restart I entered the update -v command and it just said ( Waiting on root kernel. . .) or something of that sort, and it will loop that messege every 2 or 3 minutes. Any ideas ? Should I just not update ? Anything would be great. Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115993-new-to-mac-trying-to-get-105x-to-work-on-my-pc/ Share on other sites
twobunnyrabbit
Hi Have u read this before updating? http://netkas.org/?p=50 I have just updated from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 using the above method. Make sure u replace the relevate kexts before restarting (and repair permissions). I'm not sure what patched kext are relevant to your system.
