Hello everyone, I'm wondering if someone is going to help me...

I'm trying to install Leopard on my PC, through Kalyway 10.5.2, but when I try to boot up the DVD, whether in verbose mode or not It gives me this output:

 Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.132
 2048MB memory
 VESA v2.0 12MB

 Loading Darwin/x86
 Loading kernel mach_kernel
 Loading HFS+ file: [mach_kernel] from 422d690.
 Loading HFS+ file: [mach_kernel] from 422d690.
 LoadDrivers: Loading from [/System/Library/Extensions/mkext]
 Loading HFS+ file: [/System/Library/Extensions/mkext] from 422d690.

then it reboots, without saying anything.

The code lines above was taken by the same Kalyway made run on Virtualbox (so the actual VESA string is a little different) because I haven't got at the moment any camera or similiar.. (oh, btw, my PC configuration is in my signature)

I've also tried to boot up with "cpus=1 -legacy -f -v" flags, but the result was the same. I'm just hoping I won't have to download another DVD image (it took me a looong time to download Kalyway) an to waste another DVD...

Please, help me find the solution to my problem! Thanks in advance!

Kalaway works fine on AMD. Leo4all is my favorite AMD install though. Highly reccomend it.

Unfortunately, LEO4ALL also reboots immediately.

The problem is the EFI that is included with both. PC_EFI does not like 1>Phenoms or 2>Your BIOS's ACPI implementation. (I dont know what it is, but it is one of the two)

You have very limited options:

1> Convince someone to make a LEO4ALL install with Chameleon EFI installed instead of PC_EFI. (Maybe someone already did this, I dont know)

2> Try an older AMD proc and see if it will let you install. If it works, just install OS/X with the old proc, install chameleon EFI, put your phenom back in and go for it.

3> (This is what i did for phenom 9500) You need to install LEO4ALL on an external HD (guid partition only) on a machine that will boot PC_EFI (older AMD or many intel procs), install chameleon EFI, take it to your phenom machine, reboot, selecting the external HD as the bootable drive, and you should be good.

or wrong EFI. Not trying to disrespect Kraz, but I just solved this issue on my Phenom machine using solution #3. Only thing I changed was the EFI. I've heard the kernel thing before, but at least in my case, it made no diff at all what kernel I used. The EFI was the only thing that mattered.

thank you very much for the answers!

so, I should install leo4all on another machine, edit the EFI version then move the HDD into my machine?

the only problem is that my old pc seems to have the AGP port broken, so since I haven't any PCI VGA it is unusable. nor I have an older processor, since my pc is brand new, and I won't buy another processor less powerful...

do you know any hackintosh image which works with my pc? an edited leo4all, maybe...?

thanks in advance
