izzy22
Hey guys i tried to use a apple remote on my hackintosh and i didnt work i dont know the reason why, the thing is that the apple remote is suppose to work on any mac that has a IR receiver on it, and o my laptop i plug a IR receiver and my mac recognized it and everything, and so i try using the remote and it didnt work, i tried it on my real iMac that i have on my living room and it worked, now the question is what the heck is going on here? should this just work in my laptop altho is not a real mac it should work without any problem, but idk what the heck is going on. Null Byte X
Does OS X recognize the IR device in System Profile? There's a kext file in /System/Library/Extensions called AppleIRController, inside of it you will find an info.plist where specify the vendor and deviceID. Good luck.
