Hey all. I havent been here in a few months, but yesterday, I downloaded the spore creature creator for os x.

and it needs 10.5.3!

so anyways. I saw there is a comboupdate from 10.5.1 to 10.5.3, will this work for me? or what do I need?

and will I lose any of my stuff when I upgrade?

thanks

EDIT: Also on another note. Can I install any of these? or will most of them go away when I get to 10.5.3?

Last time I asked this question, I was told awhich ones were safe. I installed only those specific ones,... and I got grey screen of death after a reboot... so as you can see this time I chose to just live without them.

I would stay on 10.5.1. To get Spore to run:

  1. download trial
  2. Unpack and drag to desktop
  3. click show package content
  4. open resources folder
  5. open tginstall.plist in text editor
  6. scroll down to MinimunSystemVersion
  7. Change 10.5.3 to 10.5.1
  8. Save and run the installer
  9. It will give give an error about minimum system requirements.
  10. Go to where you installed the app.
  11. click show package content
  12. open info.plist
  13. scroll down to MinimumSystemVersion
  14. Change 10.5.3 to 10.5.1 (or 2 if you're using that)
  15. run it.

Bear in mind that dependent on your individual hardware, you still might not be able to run it. It doesn't on my Mini with 10.5.3, but it does on my Hackintosh with 10.5.2.
