Booting Installed Leopard WITHOUT installation disc.

Hey guys, this is my first post here. I installed Leopard 10.5.2 on my Intel D945gcl, Pentium D CPU. After using the main kernel, I was finally able to successfully install Leopard. Aside from the drivers, I have one very quick question.

 

I have to Hard Drives. One is a SATA, which is where Windows Vista is installed. The other is an IDE, where Leopard is installed.

My dilemma is the following. I can only boot to Leopard if the Kalyway DVD is in the drive. if it isn't, It boots directly to Vista. I've tried setting the IDE drive as the first boot in the Bios, but to no avail. Is there a way I fix this? By the way, I formatted the IDE, which is where Leopard is installed, with a GUID partition. If i have to reformat, then so be it. Can you guys help?

have you tried disconnecting the sata to see if leopard is booting??? if yes and leopard still doesnt boot, then you may have to check again the instructions that came along with the version of your leopard installer. there was one that you need to run a script. you may have to set the partition type to AF using the terminal from the leopard installer or some partition software like acronis. hope this helps

The version I'm using is the fairly new one. Kalyway 10.5.2 Intel AMD SS2 SS3 DVD. I disconnected the SATA drive as you suggested, and booted up the PC. All it did was tried to read my IDE Drive, but then moved on to boot from the Ethernet card, only to say in the end, NO BOOTABLE DEVICE -- INSERT BOOT DISC AND PRESS ANY KEY.

 

I'll try to google and set the drive to AF, although I'm not sure it'll work since I'm not booting two partition, but rather one. Once again, thanks for you help, and hope you have another advice.
