vmiku914
Hello, I have a Toshiba RT9-P200 and I am trying to install Leopard. I have tried AtKOS 1.0 with MBR and GUID and it did not work. The reason why it did not work is because it had the blinking cursor which I tried to repair the boot flag with Gparted and the Terminal from the install DVD, and this did not work. I also tried Kalyway and it kept freezing while loading the script (before the GUI loads). After all this I learnt that there is ATKOS 2.0 and loaded up the MBR with no success. I tried GUID with this and it got past the blinking cursor, it loaded up the apple screen then it switched to a solid white screen and nothing happens from there. Any tip on how to get past the screen? I haven’t changed any BIOS settings, should I have? and if so, what should I change? SticMAC™
The solid white screen seems very simmilar to the isssue we had on our HP's! We found that the frequency(refresh rate) was to high! You can go in in Single User mode and remove the kext of your card, reboot and if it comes back working the load something like SwitchRes and set a custom refresh rate of wahateve your display is ie, 1280x800x32@60Hz, save, reboot and make sure SwitchRes is loaded, then reinstall your kexts! If it doesn't work, maybe I have poited you in the right direction!? vmiku914
That sound like a good idea I will attempt it, however, to get to single user mode I have to press command+S... how can I do this command on a PC keyboard? Is the command same as ctrl (control) key? Thanks for the reply, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110237-white-screen-of-death/#findComment-781131 Share on other sites
