huedrant
hi! i own a asus eeePC. since it's delivered with a working linux distro, i wonder if it is possible to take those drivers as a start to develop a set of fully working osx drivers. or might it even be possible to include those drivers in some way? greetz! BigPimpin
Possible? Yes. Likely to happen? Not so much. OSX is much closer to FreeBSD than Linux. You need developers who understood Linux device driver programming AND FreeBSD device driver programming AND OSX device driver programming AND who actually have the hardware in question for whatever driver you want to port. The bottom line is there aren't enough programmers around who have all the skills and resources necessary to do it, and for those who do there isn't any incentive to invest the hundreds of hours needed to write and test the code.
