I just installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on my PC and everything was running fine when my computer spontaneously turned off. This has happened numerous times both with and without applications running at the time of failure.

Recent changes I've made to the system include installing the Natit.kext, swapping out the 9.2.2 system.kext with 9.2.0 (in order to to match the 9.2.0 sleep kernel), and installing Final Cut Pro 5.1.

One thing I should mention is that I am overclocking my q6600 to 3.2 ghz. So my guess is that while the OC maybe be stable for XP it's not stable for Leopard. Could this be the source of my troubles? I just switched back to the stock 2.4 ghz to see if this stabilizes Leopard. Is there a stress test like Prime95 that runs on Leopard?

Hardware:

Abit IP35 Pro motherboard

q6600 Core 2 quad Intel processor

3 500 gb western digital caviar SE16 hard drives (Leopard and XP installed on separate drives)

GeForce 7300 gs 256 MB video card

2x2GB G.Skill DDR2 1000 RAM

OCZ Gamestream 700W ATX12V power supply

M-audio soundcard

Alright, so removed the OC from my processor and the computer still turned off by itself. All I did was start it up and let it run, and when I came back to my computer it was off. Looks like it doesn't have anything to do with the OC.

Any suggestions as to what could be the culprit?

Turns out I'm more of a n00b then I thought I was: The default energy saver was forcing my computer to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity. This is why it was shutting down by itself. I'm guessing something about the non-standard hardware prevent a natural mac sleep-cycle, requiring a fresh boot instead of an awakening.
