As a wise man once said, "I can admit I'm fuc*ing stupid!".

I was in a hurry and didn't pay any attention to Software Update, thus it installed apple's 10.5.3 update. It froze at 42% and I restarted (this baby freezes from time to time, during labor-intensive moments).

After hours of trial-and-error this worked partially:

1. booted into Leo4All install cd and deleted "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext" in terminal.

This way I managed to boot into single-user mode (not safe mode; at boot add "-s" kernel command).

2.  following pxavierperz' advice, I did this:

boot in single user. then type - nano /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1

find the line that says - Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext

replace that with - dsmos.kext

reboot

The Result:

It boots to the login screen. After inserting my password, it attempts to log in, but just sends me back (to the login screen).

Any advice?

P.S. I tried installing the Kalyway patch from command-line (installer -pkg /Volumes/Leopard/1_... .dmg -target /), but got a GUI error (something like "can't initiate graphical ...")
