Pliny
Just got my OSx86 in good working order -- running Kalyway 10.5.1. I have not run any software updates ... not clear on what if anything is "safe" to run with this distro. Any advice on updating the following? - Pro Apps, including ProKit update 4.5 - iLife/Work apps - iTunes/Front Row - QT Player I'm guessing most if not all are safe ... InferiorYeast
Anything that includes a kernel update is generally not safe to install. 10.5.x updates as well as a certain time machine update include these updates. That being said, those updates should all be safe, though it is always good to have a system backup, or at least a backup of your extensions folder.
