iThinkergoiMac
So I've got an IBM ThinkPad R50 that I'm trying to install OS X86 10.5 Specs are as follows: 1.5 GHz Intel Celeron (supports SSE2) 1 GB RAM (PC2100 speed) ATI Radeon Mobility 7500 (32 MB VRAM) Intel Pro/Wireless (802.11 A/B/G and Gigabit Ethernet) Built-in soundcard Anyways... the installer boots just fine, and installs fine (except when I tried to use GUID instead of MBR... then it failed). But the computer refuses to boot. The first time it installed, it must have corrupted or something because Ubuntu (my main OS now) couldn't find a valid filesystem (whether through the fdisk command or the partition editor). The second time it installed fine, but wouldn't boot. When I looked at the disk itself all the files of the OS were there. So I figured I'd try with the GUID instead of MBR, but it gave me an installation failed message at the end. I'm a long time Mac user (ever since the iMac 233MHz), so I'm very familiar with Leaopard (we had it on our iBook until it died a couple days ago). I'm using the Kalyway 10.5.1 DVD. I'm installing to an emtpy HDD (actually from the iBook), so I'm not trying to dual-boot or anything different likw that. If you need any more info, I'll be glad to give it! iThinkergoiMac
So I ended up getting it installed... turns out that either it takes *forever* to boot, or I was doing something wrong the first times. Anyways... after being successfully installed I got it set up. The screen is limited to 1024x768 (native resolution is 1400x1050), I don't have wireless internet, no graphic acceleration, and no sound. It was a fun experiment, but unless I can get those things working (and resolve the boot time issue) it's not even close to worth it. Anyone had experience fixing these issues?
