TeknikL
So I have been trying this install since yesterday, I ended up having to turn off FireWire and ALL the cpu features "prefetch, virtualization tech, etc, everything in the list" in order to get kalyway 10.5.2 to boot up, and it lets me format and partition the disk, I erase with HFS journaled, and then choose the disk to install on. I customize and choose kernel 9.2_sleep (the default)I add all the realtek audio (not sure which one will work)I add the ATI video driversI add the marvell network cardI add only the generic mobo drivers (remove nvidia, etc)and I click OK and it starts to install says 36 mins left and the cdrom goes for a good while, then the little meter inches over without the cdrom spinning for a while and the time left changes. Then it stops with a big yellow exclamation mark saying it couldn't do something for /Volume/UNTITLED and says to contact a service rep.it does this no matter which sata drive I try, even with a USB thumb drive.Any ideas folks?I have tried iAtkos 1.0v3 it doesnt even get to the selection windows, just a grey apple symbol with moving circle under.kalyway 10.5.1 doesnt even boot.thanks in advance! once I get this going I'm going to write a comprehensive howto.-M It's a ASUS Z7S WS board with xeon X5460 (4x3.16ghz) cpu and 8GB DDR2 FB-DIMM just for all the details. Shanems3
after tinkering, the kernal cpu panic is brought on by the firewire. i disable firewire, cd boots and install fine. but on reboot, i get some weird numbers, like the bootloader is failing.. gonna try another disk, Kalyway didnt boot once installed. novexnz
im trying this install at the moment, havnt had much luck so far, it says it installs, but then after rebooting gives be a grey screen with darker grey apple logo but no loading / disk activity. numlock wont go on or off so it indicates that the system is crashed. any chance you can post the list of what drivers you used and some bios settings ?
