nathancuyler
Hi guys, sorry to bother you. Especially if this turns out to be a re-directed question.... but! I have an Acer Aspire 3050, with JaS 10.4.8 installed. I haven't been able to get my ethernet or wireless working, obviously hindering my usage on my laptop. As stated in the title it is an Atheros AR5BMB5 card. I attempted the 5005g install, but it didn't seem to work correctly, let me know. Thanks, Nathan. Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out!!!! jaymus
Sweet you got AR5BMB5 working!? How? Please share! *** Edit below *** Okay this is pretty much a solved issue. In short if you include the Atheros 5008 driver with the installer on a fresh install, the AR5BMB5 will work for the most part. I've had some issues using WPA (both WPA1 and WPA2) - below are some links to related posts. There is a way to get the card to connect to WPA networks and it's not that hard, just sort of indirect. http://www.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/index.php/t40317.html http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry894948 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/106703-atheros-ar5bmb5/#findComment-894194 Share on other sites
