px xxp
Motherboard : Msi K9VGM-V Northbridge - Via K8M980 chipset Southbridge - Via VT8277A chipset Audio - AC97 -- ALC883 Cpu: Amd 64 3800+ Video Card : Nvidia Geforce 7100gs. HDD : Sata + Ide Wireless : Belkin wireless usb g f5d7050 Installation using jas 10.4.8 Worked by installing onto ide hdd. I couldn't get it to recognize my sata drive. The installation seemed to go fine until it had to reboot and there were some problems with the display, it was at the wrong resolution so i couldn't see most of the screen and the mouse pointer was invisible. I had to spend ages moving the mouse as slowly as possible so i could track it and get the display resolution correct, after a third reboot it worked fine. The graphics worked fine straight off. Wireless worked after installing ZDA2211MacUsb -- which can be found here Sound was a bit trickier to get working, after much search and trying to install kexts i found this package ALC883Audio which does the installation for you. In order to get Sata working i had to download the latest version of the AppleVIAATA.kext then install using these instructions: • Copy the AppleVIAATA.kext to /System/Library/Extensions. • • Open Terminal and write " • • sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleVIAATA.kext • • • Enter your admin password • Write " • • sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/ViaRhine.kext" • Write " • • sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache • • Write " • • sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.mkext" • Reboot Once that was done i had access to my sata drive but still haven't figured out how to write to the disk as it is ntfs. I hope this is of help thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/105340-jas-1048-installation/ Share on other sites
