Hello all,

I am a recent Hackintosh convert and a total noob. However, I have spent the last three days searching the forums extensively for the solution to my problems. Because of the great information posted here, I've been able to get all but two of my problems knocked out.

I am running Kalyway 10.5.2 on a Gateway MT6707, specs below. I did a clean install of Leopard.

I got my wifi working by install the Realtek driver (from here)

I got sound working by using the AppleHDA patcher and the Sigmatel 9250 dump.

I got my usb ports to work by following this great guide by LioNEXT.

I got two finger scrolling working by using this guide.

So far, everything runs great, and I love it. My only two problems are shutdown/restart/sleep and my media card reader. Shutdown works about 75% of the time, and the rest of the time I get the gray "you need to restart your system" box. Restart doesn't work, it just shuts down. Sleep is weird. It takes a few seconds for it to kick in, and when it does, my screen turns off for a second but them pops right back on, and then it's like its on auto scroll. If I open a menu, it just scrolls between items. If my cursor is in a text box, it scrolls it all the way up. When I hit Esc it stops and everything is back to normal.

My media card reader is not reading cards at all.

While neither of these problems are major, and I can work without having them fixed, I would like to have a 100% working install just as a matter of principle. If any one has any tips they can give, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

hey - newbie here as well, also installing kalyway 10.5.2 on a gateway mt6707.

so far i got the vanilla kernel up - had to patch wireless and audio as well. my USB worked straight off, but no LAN. I messed up somewhere with the boot manager (i had been running vista + ubuntu with grub) and decided to just wipe the thing to get a nice triple-boot laptop running. once i get everything reinstalled, i will be looking at the quirks. i'm glad you posted, you saved me a bit of time with the wireless and audio patches. last thing i tried was to fix scrolling, which locked up leopard upon second reboot...i almost always use a wireless mouse on my laptop, so it won't kill me if i can't get that running. i never have used the card reader, but will test on leopard. i will definitely be trying to figure out the restart/sleep thing - i have same problem as you. will let you know.
