kev_in
Hi, I have installed Kalyway 10.5.2 into my 160GB HDD. The whole HDD is formatted into one big drive just for OSX.. Installed Kalyway and works perfectly with different application Then I install the same OSX into my second 80GB HDD just incase there is something wrong with 160GB HDD So I can do something about it.. Yesterday, the 160GB HDD has a error when I was trying to use UnRARX.. Then I do a hard restart on my computer.. And I cannot boot back into the 160GB HDD.. Then I boot into my 80GB Kalyway, and run Disk Utility. Then try Verify the 160GB HDD....Got a error "Keys out of order" Then I downloaded a Patcher Disk Warrior and repair... The 160GB HDD back to live again.. But after couple of hours... I got the screen saying I must restart my OSX. Then I hard restart it... Cant boot back into any Leopard.. Even try to use the DVD to boot.. Keep getting Kernel Panic all the time.. Now I dont have a OSX working.. I have no idea why I always cant make my OSX stable enough to run for months. Can only work for a week, then I have to make a reinstall. Always have problems..... Is there anything to do with my software installed?!?!? Here is the Spec: E6750 with EP35-DS3R F2BIOS 4GB Cruical DDR2 800Mhz 160GB, 80GB, 320GB(DATA) Gigabyte 2600XT Slient Pipe Program I am using: Adobe CS3 Design Premium Final Cut Studio 2 UnRARX, Real Player ILife 08, IWork 08, Microsoft Office 08 VMFusion, Parallels Desktop What I have chosen during install Kalyway Vanilla Kernel Netkas X2000 Driver Realtek R1000 Network Driver KOOLSOFT Netkas SMBIOS ALC889a Driver Please help me out Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/104816-kernel-panic-all-the-time/ Share on other sites
tacoofabudda
I had the SAME problem, Download latest Kalyway, Reinstall and then whenever you boot what you do is press F8 at the prompt and type "vanilla" (no quotes) Im still trying to find an automated way to boot into the Vanilla Kernal so if anyone knows I think we would both appreciate it PS if your running EFI + Vanilla can you do the actual 10.5.2 update? kev_in
I have tried that update from 10.5.1 to 10.5.2... As I install 10.5.2 Kalyway straight away... But I am quite annoyed by the Kernel Panic. Once I am able to use Leopard back.....Kernel Panic will happen after I finished using my PC.. Like when I m sleeping, Kernel Panic will come up.. Then I will not be able to use OSX again!! As both of my main OS HDD are Kalyway 10.5.2 But cant boot in after that.... Sometimes I might be able to boot into safe mode then boot back ..... Now I am using Safe mode again..=.=!! adamsweeting
So you guys are running the vanilla kernel.... Thought you could only run the vanilla kernel if you have an Intel Mobo (and a Dual core / Quad core CPU)? kev_in
I am using a Core 2 Duo CPU...Isn't that can run the vanilla Kernel?!?! I am using the vanilla Kernel 9.2.2 right now.... But just have problems all the time about the HDD... Always say Key out of order and have to use Disk Warrior to repair it... I don't want to do that, as it wastes a lot of my time and also, I have data inside with the HDD.. Don't want to lose them!!! Any chance that this will not come out again... By the way, I am using MBR as my HDD Format.. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/104816-kernel-panic-all-the-time/#findComment-747594 Share on other sites
