hey all,

ive had osx 10.4.3 working on my alienware m7700 laptop for a while now, and everything is great. I have however noticed that when ever i shut off the external hard drive, of which the osx system is installed on, and reboot into osx, without first going into windos, the sound does not work. Let me explain further. Im using acronics os selector, and it works just great for me(even though ive read people bag on it). If i go into windows, then reboot into osx, the sound works fine. If i leave the external hard drive on, then boot into osx in the os selector during promt(without going into windows), the sound still works. However, once i turn off the external hard drive, i have to boot into windows at least once before booting osx for the sound to work. I disabled the firewall in osx, having read somewhere that that had something to do with it, but it doesnt work. I suppose i can leave my external sata on all the time, but over time it could mess it up. Ive tried to get it to work natively and install on my computers internal sata's all with no avail. The system works great as it is, i just need to figure out how to fix this one little bug. Please, anyone, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bob--
