Ok, i complete the base installation portion, then it gets to Essentials and craps out on me during the AddressBook.framework section. I do not understand why this doent install while the rest does?

Ive tried different format DVD's (+r -r rw) but i always get this error...ive even had someone else burn the software for me.

anyone know why it cannot write this one specific file?

BomFileError 2: File or Directory not found

./System/Library/Frameworks/Addressbook.framework/A/Adressbook

the install log says that Mac OSX had trouble writing this file. Why just this file??? wtf?

I'm having the exact same problem. I have consulted people with the same (patched) ISO - our MD5s are identical. I've burned the disc twice with different media (+/-), and verified the MD5 of the disk (identical to the .iso).

I've opened up the disk in IsoBuster (which can mount the mac file system) and navigated to that part of the disc and the file absolutely isn't there. I'm not sure why we are having problems but nobody else is? :P

its not the cd you have to look for it, its installed from /packages/addressbook to the location of

./System/Library/.....and so on.

We are having the problem of writing that specific file from the disc to the harddrive....

Anyone have any ideas?

Try installing JUST THE BASE OS under the root account. Later you can run the BundledSoftware package (or whatever it is called) by changing the family name in its Info.plist file from whatever it is (in the case of the deadmoo image, it is something like "iMac4,1") to "ACPI".

Ppl I had the same problem but now I've solved it. The BOM file is never there on the image or on the DVD. It'll be extracted from a temp folder in hdd. Anyway, my problem was with the DVD burner. I've burned at 2.4 x (slowest) and it gets stuck at that point. I had used a sony to burn and it burned fine but it can't read that particular section.

It happens most of the time that a burner burns properly but can't read it. So I used a Samsung DVD (only reader) to install it and it worked fine.

Another way of checking whether your iso is corrupted or not is to install it with VMware and dtools. If it worked from the image in your hdd, then every thing is fine. the problem is with the reader.

I've used both method and it's successful. I installed from VMware too and installed with Samsung DVD on another machine. It worked fine.

Initially I thought my iso was corrupted and seachring the whole wide internet for a fix but later learnt from this forum about vmware.... hope you all can solve this too... good luck...

I have a laptop though, so I can't exactly use another drive to install. What can I do?

Well u can copy the iso to your hardisk and then use vmware and deamon tools to mount your hdd image and install it using vmware. You can later activate the mac os partition for it to enable independent or native booting to work by itself. you still can work under windows or work independently.

there is no problem during iso copy process. only during installation that the dvd can't read properly. so try out and let us know about your progress..
