spamattack23
i am about to install tiger on my laptop however i am not sure if i need to reformat my harddrive or not. i would prefer not to because vista came preinstalled and i dont have an install disk. so do i just partition my harddrive then install it to that partition or how do i do it? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/103577-do-i-need-to-reformat-my-harddrive/ Share on other sites
Panarchy
How big is your hard-drive? How many partitions do you currently have? If you have a legit key, it is not illegal (as far as I know) to download the DVD and burn it as long as you use a legit key. Otherwise, if you are willing to take the risk (backup first) use GParted and shrink your vista partition. Create a new partition with no format or drive letter. (and the size you want Mac to be) Boot from the mac DVD and install. Then boot back into vista (You might need vista DVD now to repair, whether or not you format your vista partition) and use EasyBCD to add your mac partition to your Boot Manager. That's it! Oh, make sure you have the right drivers and all that.... Panarchy PS: Why install Tiger? Install Leopard instead...
