I just got a usb kvm switch so I could share a keyboard and mouse with my other machine. Both detect and function fine, but I have to crank the tracking speed up to the maximum in the preferences to seem like normal speed in windows. Now when I move the mouse around at normal speed it moves fine, but when I slow down to click on a small link or button it slows way down, so slow that i have to move the mouse two inches to move up about 20 pixels. Is there some other options for mouse acceleration or something else to tweak to try to fix this. It seems like it balances out if I turn down the tracking speed, but then it's just to slow all around. I didn't notice this with a ps2 mouse.

Ok, I did a little bit more research, and found a little program called USB overdrive, that lets you change the DPI and acceleration to your liking. With a combination of 200 dpi, and 40% acceleration, I think I've got it pretty close to what I'm used to. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else was going crazy.

You're lucky. My Logitech USB mouse wont work at all. (Although it did work during installation...)

Get into a shell as a privileged user (root!).

mv /System/Library/Extensions/AppleFPMemDriver.kext /var/root/

When you reboot it'll almost certainly work. It's not very fast though but Mac's I've used in the store are the same... they don't respond to very minor movements (probably for Graphics creators)
