susu2k
hello i read a lot about cpus=1 in this forum. but unfortunately in the end i was not able to find out what it actually does... i have an nforce4 chipset and i get random kernel panics without cpus=1. my question: do i loose performance when i set cpus=1? i read that i can use both cpu cores anyway. is this correct? regards Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/102813-what-does-cpus1-do/ Share on other sites
i_Geek
AFAIK, cpus=1 forces OS to thing you have a Core Solo instead of Core Duo (my case) and, as for me, with cpus=1, OS is working much more stable.
