mschipperheyn
Hi all, I have the new Apple keyboard (wired version). Beautiful product. fastest typing I ever did. I have it hooked up to my Vaio laptop. In order to make it work I've had to install Bootcamp :-( but I still have some problems. Perhaps somebody has a solution: 1. Is there a *real* Windows XP driver for the Apple keyboard or will it come? This Bootcamp workaround is far from ideal and eats up a lot of resources. 2. When I Hibernate, detach the keyboard, work on the laptop elsewhere, Hibernate, reattach the keyboard and start up again, the keyboard doesn't "wake up". I have to start bootcamp, it freezes my computer for half a minute and then it starts to work. 3. The other way around, same problem. I have my mouse attached to the keyboard. But if I take the laptop and mouse elsewhere, and attach the mouse direct to the laptop, it doesn't seem to wake up either. I have to scan for hardware changes and all that jazz 4. The brightness buttons on the keyboard don't work. I see the brightness Icon appear on my screen, but it doesn't change the setting 5. Some of the normal functions of the keyboard involving the F-keys have stopped working. For instance CTRL+SHIFT+F12 had been mapped to "make screenshot". Doesn't work anymore. Anyway, All these problems would probably be solved if Apple would publish a normal Windows XP driver. Would take an engineer probably a day to write. But it seems like we're still a bit in denial about Windows users actually using Windows on Mac hardware.
