QuantaS
I am running a new computer with a AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400+ with an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Mobo... I Installed OS X 10.4.4 using the Patched DVD I downloaded via a torrent I booted the DVD and installed OS X onto a 40GB WD400 The Install Went fine (Except it hung at the end and i had to restart manually) I booted OSX using the rd=disk0s2 and it began to boot It stopped at a blue screen and the cursor pops up every few seconds as well as a spinning black thing at the bottom center I used -V to see the problem and it says that it crashed or something (im not at home now, I will post more on it later) I used -V and -X but it still crashed this time it said something about Login Application or something but it keeps just doing the same thing over until i shut down the computer (again, I will post more details later) Does ANYONE have this problem becuase I have read the forums and found that many of the people with questions are running AMD Athlon 64 x2 with an ASUS Mobo... I am soooo close to getting in (I think) and just want to get this cuz it would be amazingly cool... Anyone with this Problem PLEASE POST Anyone with a solution PLEASE PLEASE POST lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10257-problem-booting-os-x-1044-with-amd-athlon-64-x2-4400/ Share on other sites
0x1ff
Hi there - As far as I know, the patched 10.4.4 DVD-image has not been patched for use with AMD CPUs - I'd recommend reading this thread: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=9762 Hope this helps, can't test myself yet, because my AMD X2 isn't here yet.
