cctop123
On my Thinkpad (German Keyboard Layout) there are no Windows Keys. Mac OS X automatically made my ALT and ALT-GR keys to The Apple-Key and my Control Keys to Control-Keys. Now i have no ALT-Keys to produce things like an "@" (ALT-L)... :censored2: Any advice? Attaching a second USB-Keyboard causes Mac OS to ask for the key close to SHIFT. THIS Keyboard works well afterwards (ALT=ALT CTRL=CRTL and WIndows=APPLE-Key) cctop123 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10255-thinkpad-keyboard-problem/ Share on other sites
TribesMan
I have the same problem. In fact every ThinkPad user (prior to 60 series) has this problem... It was just IBM's policy not to include windows button on their keyboards... I'd love to be able to convert one of control keys into "option" key... Like in windows with IBM keyboard utility... cyberian
I have got exactly the same problem Doesn't anyone know a solution for this problem. Because this situation renders MacOsX on any thinkpad kind of useless. Elf
I have the same prob with my Thinkpad T40p and I believe we could solve this with a keyboard macro utility like "macromagic" for windows. Does anyone know where we can get this utility for Mac OS? Does anyone know where we can get this utility for Mac OS? I'd be curious to know if QuicKeys would do the trick...they even have a 30-day trial: http://www.startly.com/products/qkx.html I've used it on OS 9 and Windows XP, but never on OS X...it's more of a macro tool, but there may be keymapping controls, so it's worth a shot!
