MacOSX86lover
I have an HP PC and I want to install OS X86 Tiger on it. The problem is that when I was looking at the instructions on how to do so, I found that I need a DVD-ROM drive and my PC only has a CD-RW drive. I do have an SSE2 CPU, the processor is a 2.7GHz Celeron and the PC has 768MB of RAM. What should I do? Can I install it using multiple CD's? munky
have a look around for a guide to installing thru VMWare. basically you make sure you have two parititions, put windows on one and install vmware. set it up to use the second partition for the virtual machine and get it to boot from an ISO image of a Tiger or Leopard install DVD. that will let you install to the hdd, from which you can then boot natively. have a look in the tutorials section under vmware guides, or google it. hth. Truely madly, you can't install Leo or Tiger by multiple discs installation. Basicaly, the retail DVD of Leo is 4.7 gb or 6.4~ gb on a double-layer. For the use of ToH (Team Hackintosh), they made custom kernel and installation at all for the drivers and the PC based compatibility. The average DVD of Os X is 3.5 gb max (Leo4all). For the other specs, that's simply unknown. But 768 mb of ram is very uneffecient. Minimum 1 gb is useful. Definetily, in your short, I would think twice what is between bought a DVD W and R and boost your memory with the possibility that your mobo or Leo will never work vis the fact you installed it and work like a Mac... I don't know and it's my opinion! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/101692-install-mac-os-x86-on-a-pc/#findComment-725477 Share on other sites
