Yup i have same problem like u all, my DVD drive is missing and not detected. But i have a trick to force osx detect my drive. Just put your OSX installation disc on your drive, boot your PC, select to boot from DVD drive not HDD, when OSX start installation countdown just wait it DO NOT PRESS ANY KEY..... then hola my drive recognize by OSX

Hi, Is it work for SATA Optical drive?since my optical drive did not detected on OSX86 but my HD detected perfectly My notebook use ICH7-M as south bridge and connect my Seagate 80Gb and SlimType DVD-CDRW trough SATA interface. Thanx and waiting for your information
