Kernel panic due to Graphics driver

not necessarily.

 

you can just tap f8 or any other key i think, before darwin starts to load

 

and you will be prompted like this one below...

 

boot:_

 

 

then just type -v ...and hit enter

 

it will look like this

 

boot: -v

hello, i have gts 8800 and i have this problem too.

 

 

i tried to install jas. when i got the rpoblem i tried your commands but

 

/sbin/mount -vw/ 
cd/system/library/extensions

 

commands doesnt work. those were invalid command promt or sometihng else i cant remember. and 1 more think.

 

you said boot with -v -s. -v is okay but how do we boot withs -s too? do we just type "-v -s" ?

i have solved my problem. my osx works nearly perfect. no sound,no internet or no resolution other then 1024*768 anyways ill take care them later.

 

my problems were;

 

i was misspelled u with v (arg)

/sbin/mount -uw

i wasnt leaving a blank cd and system

cd /system/library/extensions

boinkytwo please help

i installed JaS 10.4.8 sse 2 sse 3 combo.

the installation works fine but when it starts the osx, it only show half of the screen. the other half is blank. and i get also a blank cursor :D

im using GeForce 6200 and Titan driver.

haven't tried your solution yet, but can you guess what's causing my problem ?

most probably your card is causing it.

 

remove the titan.kext and reboot to see its effect.

 

follow my guide when removing the kext.

 

if your successful and booted up to the desktop, then its your chance to install a modified natit driver.

 

but im not really sure if your 6200 card is supported.

alright, i will try it.

i hope it will fix the issue cos 10.4.3 running fine with me. not sure why the newer one have lots of problems.

 

anyway i've check the HCL and found out that 6200 card is supported.

i'll get back to you soon.

I've got the same problem, but just a quick question: Do you get any confirmation that your '-rm'ing is actually doing anything? I typed in -rm rf blahblah.kext and it didn't say 'no file found' or anything. Is this just what its supposed to do? Or am I doing something wrong...

 

Oh and I found a similar guide: http://www.thereformed.org/2007/04/27/howt...de-c840-part-2/. Its just less 'deleting' and more 'moving', which makes me feel more comfortable.
