tomaszjc7
I have been trying for quite some time to get OSX up and running in VMware with no avail, after trying many different methods and reading and researching all over the forum I'm wondering if there is a vmdk file out there somewhere to download? For those who don't know what a vmdk file is, its the like the "hard drive" file that vmware runs off of. In a sense, if there were such a file available all those trying to run OSX in vmware would have to do is download it and run it using vmplayer (free vmware software). This would save lots of people the time and frustration of installing and configuring OSx86. If I could, i would have seeded such a torrent already but I am unable to. So, if anyone out there has some time on their hands and a properly functioning OSx86 vmdk file, seed it on the appropriate sites and let us know. Or if such a file does exists let us know where we can find it. (I know theres is a deadmoo image out there but im looking for something a bit more updated, like 10.4.8) Thanks! Myster_EE
Ummmmm, or PM us with a link, as Posting it here would be against forum regulations. (I believe) I too, would be interested in this file!

tomaszjc7
Do not search for "VMware OS X 10.4.7" at the website associated with purchasing the nation of Sealand, it is unlawful and rightfully discouraged by the forum. Thank you. Edited February 14, 2007 by tomaszjc7
Mauss
warning: no seeders out there! may you help? thank you! Mauss
e7c
I downloaded and installed that nice package from that "strange" Sealand-related site However, OS X won't boot. It complains that some kexts it's trying to load fail, and virtually every startup process crashes. I attached a screenshot, taken at the point from which things started to go downhill. After 10 pages of error messages (most of them from mDNSResponder, the other parts of the OS seem to have given up earlier , I get a root shell, but nothing else. Does anyone have an idea what's going wrong here? I got the newest VMware Player (1.0.3-34682), running on Windows XP SP2 running on an AMD Athlon64 3000+ (hence, SSE2 is present). cumanzor
I have one that works in VMware. Do you think it is possible that I can clone the vmdk into a real partition, so I can run natively instead of installing it?
macgirl
Sure, one of the first methods involve that, I think it is in the WIKI. You need a program called dd Check in the Tutotial Forums for different guides of dd
