Hi guys,

I have just installed High Sierra 10.13.2 in a relatively dated PC, and now I'm facing issues with shutdown and sleep. Also having issues with Audio, but shutdown (sleep not so much) is the most important.

The specs are as follows:

  • ASUS P6T WS Pro
  • Intel i7-930
  • NVIDIA GT 630
  • Audio AD2000B

Ethernet is working perfectly. Another weird issue I noticed is that an internal HDD (not the main one) appears to be uninitialized, and I cannot erase it. It fails with an error "Unable to write to the last block of the device". The HDD works fine, has no problems, so I think it may be an issue related to the some configuration.

Anyway, the main issue is shutdown. I have tried several darkwake combinations, used FixShutdown, yet it always freezes on shutdown. More specifically, it will close the apps and then it either freezes with a black screen which shows only the cursor (it doesn't move), or sometimes it will freeze showing the wallpaper. Regardless, it always freezes and I have to forcefully shut it down or restart it.

It may need DSDT patching but I'm not familiar with this unfortunately.

I'd also appreciate it if anyone could help me with the audio.

Thank you in advance!

I ran the app you sent and I sent you a PM with the attachment.

Thanks!

@shaelrosen it's true. With nv_disable shutdown was perfect. But of course the display was not good because of nv drivers being disabled. What can I do to be able to use my nvidia card while also being able to shutdown?
