Bob Loblaw
I just successfuly installed El Capitan Vanilla on my Acer Aspire V5-571P and to my surprise and delight, the touchscreen works correctly. What works:Keyboard, Touchpad -- using Rehabman's latest VoodooPS2Controller. Touchscreen (!!) Tap and hold to drag, tap to select, etc. even handwriting "ink" works great! Sound - using VoodooPS2. Had to set input volume to minimum.CD, DVD, Webcam, USB On-screen audio controls, brightness keys, backlit KB Intel HD4000 graphicsWi-Fi Sleep, restart What's not working: Built-in WiFi - I'm using an Edimax AC600 Wireless Dual-Band Mini USB Adapter (model EW-7811UTC), which is fully supported under El Capitan. Built-in Bluetooth - I plugged in a cheapo "GT Max" USB Bluetooth dongle, which worked. Built-in Ethernet Not yet tested HDMI burning discs (About this Mac says burning is supported) How I installed: 1. on 8GB USB (using an existing Mac OS X computer): Used MacPwn to create El Capitan USB installer. Removed Bluetooth Kexts, used Enoch (rev 2773) on MBR-formatted USB. Booted with GraphicsEnabler=No 2. Followed guide "How to Vanilla Install El Capitan on Hackintosh with MacPwn.docx." Used Install Chameleon options as follows: Patches > KernelBooter_kexts, Settings > Intel Capri xxxxxxx004, Resolution > 1366x768x32. Not sure if it's all necessary, but here is the entire <dict> section of my org.chameleon.Boot.plist:<dict> <key>Graphics Mode</key><string>1366x768x32</string> <key>IntelCapriFB</key> <string>4</string><key>Kernel Flags</key><string>ahcidisk=1 debug 8</string><key>CsrActiveConfig</key><string>3></string> </dict> 3. Installed El Capitan on 32GB USB using installer made in step 1, above. This time, I formatted the 32GB USB as GUID Partition Map, Mac OS X Journaled. Once complete, I removed Bluetooth kexts from S/L/E and plugged in an external keyboard. 4. Installed the kexts from the bootloader made with MacPwn to the S/L/E folder, using KextWizard. 5. Installed VoodooPS2controller, this made the laptop's built-in keyboard work. 6. Installed VoodooHDA, this made the sound work. Overall, I'm very happy with how this turned out! I previously had been running Mountain Lion on this notebook, but I couldn't get internet working.
