Hello everybody, this is my very first post here i gotta tell yall i got intimidated at the quiz after registration lol

But anyway i hope i get to post now what have been happening , excuse me if not this forum is huge and i got here from my phone.

So i gonna give a review of what happend since i started

Yesterday i did my first attempt on installing Mac on my laptop, i have always wanted to do it but left for later. But finally i got into the whole process 2 days ago and on the first day all i did was trying to learn about it reading posts,guides and watching videos... After that next day i started the whole thing, im still not sure if the method i followed was the most efficient, i got into niresh OS X 10.9 had no problem installing it, i set the GraphicsEnabler=YES as for what i read about Nvidia cards. After installing it , it went to boot for the first time i guess and thats were it things started getting troublesome. It boots into the Mac logo and loading circle then after a short period of time the screen goes black and some kind of audio started playing and gets buggy and freezes. And as i searched for something that would let me modify boot flags in the niresh boot interface i tried to boot into 1 of the 3 diferent boot methods it allows i went with "boot single user mode" not knowing exactly about it. But it booted into a text log and after waiting it ended up freezing , the logs were saying something about i have a intel intern graphics and not a Nvidia one which made me realize about the "GraphicsEnabler=YES". My BIOS doesnt have any options about deactivating neither of both. Went back into the niresh boot interface trying to find a way to able to modify the boot flags but i couldn't, decided would be faster to reinstall the OS again but with diferent flags and settings so i went with GraphicsEnabler=NO and IGPEnabler=yes for my intel card, after installing it and booting this time it didn't froze at Mac logo but kept loading forever, went into boot as a single user again and it displayed "cpu 4 caller 0xffffff7f8158ecc9"

So this morning i did it again i reinstalled it with different configurations and tried to run it into verbose mode as i read about it. It ended up with this :

Btw excuse me if i seem to be inexperient with these methods and workarounds i tried to explain the best i could so you guys can have a history of what and how i been doing in case it helps to diagnosis this. I can run any kind of test while i still at this if it helps

Let's state the head-bashing stuff 1st... Taking a distro to install OS X on a laptop is a major leap of faith these days. To me distros are the worst thing to try when attempting to build a Hackintosh. Ok, you may not have a Mac or Hack to build your USB installer from, yet...

Can you please start by listing your system's specifications as this is the most important info one can give to begin with:

 • exact CPU model (e.g.: Intel Sandy Bridge i5-2520M or Intel Haswell i5-4300M or Intel Core2Duo T9300)
 • chipset (e.g.: Intel QM67 6/C200 Series or Intel QM77 7/C210 Series or Intel 965GM)
 • graphics card (e.g.: integrated Intel HD 4000 or discrete nVidia Geforce 9600M or discrete AMD Radeon HD 5430)
 • LCD resolution (e.g.: 1440x900 or 1366x768)
 • LAN card (e.g.: Intel 82576LM GigEthernet or Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx GigEthernet)
 • audio chip (e.g.: ALC292 or IDT 92HD90)
 • wireless (e.g.: Atheros AR9285 or Broadcom BCM4352)
 • bluetooth (e.g.: Broadcom xxxx)
 • SD card reader (e.g.: Reaktek xxxx or Ricoh yyyy)
 • USB ports (e.g.: n x USB2.0/USB3.0)
 • video outputs (e.g.: VGA, DVI, HDMI, DP)

Without those basic specs, it'll be difficult to assist you. If you can, try and identify the PCI ids (vendor id + device id) for all your hardware components. That always helps to determine support under OS X.

Right now and according to that screenshot you posted, your system appears to hand at graphics initialisation.

hey man thanks for reply , i got AIDA64 i hope it can give it enough info about the specs

I think you've covered it all. Ivy Bridge platform with high-end i7 CPU it is then.

I guess this system is based on Optimus technology for dual-GPU handling. That's unsupported in OS X and you can only use either the integrated GPU or the discrete GPU; but you can't have both active. I would suggest you start by keeping the nVidia disabled in BIOS and use the Intel HD4000 since that is supported OOB as long as you call on the correct Capri framebuffer (FB).

There are various ways to manage this: DSDT patch or bootloader call to the correct Capri FB or layout-id. Which bootloader are you currently using? Chameleon or Clover? The usual Capri FB for mobile Intel HD 4000 usually is 0x01660003.

With Chameleon, you can specify this with one of the following 2 boot options:

1) IntelCapriFB=xx (range 0-11)

2) InjectIntel-ig=0xnnnnnnnn (hex value of one of the Capri FB layout-ids)

These should be accompanied with boot option GraphicsEnabler=Yes. If your screen res is above 1440x900 or 1600x900, add EnableDualLink=Yes. Respect the casing as it's an integral part of the syntax. If you inject the wrong Capri FB or wrong layout-id, expect to end up with a black or corrupted screen or even a system freeze. With the correct Capri FB or layout-id, your system will boot to OS X desktop and you should have full graphics acceleration.

Try the following boot options:

GraphicsEnabler=Yes InjectIntel-ig=03006601

or

GraphicsEnabler=Yes IntelCapriFB=3

Then let us know. If Capri FB #3 leads you nowehere, try with other values in the range 0 to11. If you prefer to play with layout-id, there is a complete table of them at this place. Specify them in reverse hex order as per above example for layout 0x01660003 (entered in the form 03006601).

im getting into trying these right now

i have a question about something... since i noticed my BIOS is also so restrictive i found online a customized BIOS by a guy named Prema, from what i seem and read about it , it will allow have much more control over the hardware however i dont know if installing a non-original BIOS can have any kind of negative effect with the OS X install and run since Mac OS is so restrictive on hardware

if done then maybe i will have control on which GPU to enable or disable and alot of other stuff that can help set it up too

After finding were to type boot flags and such i just did a fast -x to see if it was working and it aparently loaded from that part i was stuck

Was this good or expected to boot into safe mode? Should i continue with the safe mode installation or fixing the stuff before actually booting and install?

Edit: sorry for the upside down photo it happens to me every time i add an attachment

A modded BIOS would not be expected to negatively impact on OS X. It's quite a common thing actually. I myself use a modded BIOS on my Vostro 200 desktop and it allowed me to activate AHCI for OS X.

Thanks i will update the bios later then !, i just made a status update post but i guest it went on the same time as your post, i just managed to get past that part i was stuck in safe mode, do i proceed this or back out and fix the errors first?

sorry for it Herve

since i was in Boot mode i decided to try those codes even tho i imagined it wouldnt work without properly deactivate the Nvidia card but i give it a try

InjectIntel-ig=0xnnnnnnnn (0x01660003)

then tried

GraphicsEnabler=Yes InjectIntel-ig=03006601
and
GraphicsEnabler=Yes IntelCapriFB=3

in all 3 cases i ended up with a loading circle and mac logo for a brief moment before the screen turned black.

any chances of those codes messing up other partitions too like a "universal flag"? after i rebooted and log into windows to get the BIOS mod my windows didnt load after the password leaving me in a black screen with the mouse pointer first attempt then on the second seemed to happen a huge lag on desktop screen before getting all black and returned working normally, this never happend before

im about to install the BIOS now

Im not 100% sure but i think it installed Chameleon by default, i remember seeing it marked in the options

After much strugle with the Bios yesterday due to a program i managed to to install the bios mod and no changes were made in the Bios, after i searched online the author said that in my specific laptop model all the changes were made "under the hood" and that i should use Intel XTU to manage it. Thing is i had XTU B4 the bios update and didnt noticed any difference in it, so i dont know if it was worth it.

Intel XTU wont let me tune or configure the Nvidia card so i had to disable it via the Devices config on windows hoping it would work for all and aparently it did.

Got to try the codes this morning and it worked!

The code was : GraphicsEnabler=Yes InjectIntel-ig=04006601 . Unfortunately i didnt inserted EnableDualLink=Yes this time because i thought it would fail after trying over 10 diferent intel codes but i got surprised.

Now after it had all loaded im in the OS desktop but aparently i have no connection but its ok i will look it up

About the EnableDualLink=Yes, seems like it is 1920x1080 even tho i didnt wrote it this time

EDIT: Nevermind .. after booting the OS again it has 1024x768 ...do i have to assign that display bootflag every time i restart the pc? Im working on that ##### program , ive been thinking if i can create a EasyBCD start boot for all the systems and remove the Niresh one, because it became default .

Is it safe to simply try to overwrite niresh boot with some other boot?

Update2: Something feels very wrong on windows , each time im booting into it it freezes from what seems to be a lag... it started by having it having a stutter when login into windows now ... my system just froze for like 5 minutes before it became responsive again

I tried to log in mac with EnableDualLink but no changes in resolution

Update3:

I screw it up.. tried to install the drivers with that beast program selecting only the drivers i had and after rebooting it gets stuck on loading...

Tried -x flag and it seemed to work at first as it showed a progress bar instead of the circle dots but after reaching a certain point the bar turned into that circle and then black screen not much after

Damn just when i thought i was progressing it messed up...ive been seeing posts of people saying that is bricked , they had to do the Mac install all over again i really hope this is not the case..

Update4

just booted into Verbose mode i noticed the OS was relatively slowly reading stuff from the system for like 3 minutes before it seems to actually try to boot

And when i did i took a picture of the errors

I'm afraid you'll find no support for those tools you chose to turn to... If you want to use them, you should know where to look for support.

Clearly, you need to specify those graphics-related parameters that got you to boot OS X until you insert them in your bootloader config or in a patched DSDT. And on those words, I bid you good luck in your OS X endaevour.

I was using this tool that i had along with everything else to follow a tutorial, and ironically the first forum i went to from this got me banned on my very first post without saying a word of warning or advice before doing it, after i searched online and it lead me to a thread here with the admin explaining the situation. That was when i notice i was in the wrong place and then got here. I wasnt expecting it to be such a huge deal i didn't even cared this tool came from there i just didnt want to mess up the process i was following from the start with the only tool i knew until recently

In any case im very glad for your help, to me still seems magic how you could figure out stuff so accurately from the problems i had from being such a noob!
