themusicalduck
I have been looking at getting a large SSD for a while and found myself stumbling upon an auction for the above in title with a few minutes left at a very low price. Happy with myself to have bought such a high performance SSD for a quarter of the retail price, I was dismayed to discover later on that there are no drivers for this card in OSX. In my mind SSDs are standard, but clearly that isn't the case when they use an inbuilt RAID controller. So before I put this card back on ebay, I thought I would make some posts asking if anyone, anywhere had some ideas on making this thing work in OSX. The controller is an LSI SAS2308. I did discover this thread here - http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/285197-driver-for-lsi-megaraid-sas-family/, but it does not support this controller. I also edited /S/L/E/AppleLSIFusionMPT.kext/Contents/Info.plist to include the device ID (discovered on Linux through lspci, it doesn't come up in system information), but it made no difference. Any ideas? I'm on Yosemite. Thanks.
