Hey everyone,

I have been trying for days and days to get this working but so far haven't gotten anywhere. I am using a Toshiba Tecra R700 laptop and trying to boot the iAtkos ML2 .dmg off of it (L2 is downloaded if thats the only way) and I really need help with this.

The laptop can't burn dual-layer discs so USB memory is the only way

I do not have access to another Mac in any way. I've tried installing iAtkos on VMware but gets stuck on Apple screen with spinner.

Using TransMac to format USB with disk image: PC tries to boot from USB, but gets error "Insert system disk in drive and press any key when ready"

Using PowerISO to create bootable USB key: Same result

Using Chameleon off USB drive to try and boot: drive not detected on boot

Using Chameleon boot loader installation straight into Windows 7: Installer doesn't do anything

Using dd method to convert to ISO and boot off USB: PC in boot loop until USB drive is unplugged (can't boot off USB)

I have tried both an 8GB Kingston USB drive and a 32GB MicroSD card with two different readers. All come up with same result.

Is there any possible way I could get this going on this laptop without needing DVD or another Mac? Really desperate for help.

Thanks for your time.

unless you can install iATKos Cameleon 2.2 183 boot loader on USB to boot.

I would install iATKos l2 with dvd. with 2 GUID partions.

after l2 is working on 1 , you can install ML on 2nd.

then after you have ML installed and happy.

make an image of ML with Lion then boot to ML and restore ML to L2.

I had to install iATKos boot loader on USB drive,

only ps2 mouse/keyboard worked until after install
