Hello, I am working on a custom OSX86 build ad hoc for my PC, starting from the retail installer. Other than every guide that explains how to expand the dmg into an external drives and which files to copy where, what do we know about the structure of the installer? I mean, like, how to add entries/packages/scripts to the Customize page? How to edit the files that get copied into the destination system?
Is there any reference or resource for this kind of things?

Nobody really modifies them anymore. It was really commonplace back in the 10.5 days and early 10.6 days when there were 'distros' for each release that needed tweaking to work for everyone. The 10.8 installer doesn't have any optional packages, but you will likely be able to pick up what was being done previously in the old threads.
