Installing Windows 8

On a Mac Pro (early 2008), I'm installing Windows 8 on its own new drive with OSX 10.8.2. Boot camp works normally, then I get to the Windows 8 installer. It requires formatting the drive, as expected, but after formatting throws this error after clicking "Next:" "We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files."

The only option after that is to quit the installer. Back in 10.8.2, the drive is labelled "Untitled," is read-only, and formatted for NTFS. Any ideas on how to get Windows 8 to realize that the drive it just formatted is available?

Thanks!
