Hello to everybody in the forum,

I am writing this topic for a very simple reason- I'd like to say: I did it, I am running Lion on my old HP and it is way better than the Windows machine I used to know!

What better place than here to say thanks to all of you people who have struggled for the greater good and have delivered solutions for the sake of such as me, thank you!

In brief:

I have used the Blangsak Distro of 10.7.4, while customizing I have only selected kexts that were provided by Apple ( except for AppleHDA ), I have also enabled the Graphics Enabler and installed. Well, it took a good while for getting at the "Installation complete", after restarting the machine I have surprisingly found that it worked and it was running flawlessly. Post-installation: Two kexts are needed the VoodooHDA and the Realtek 81xx.

After everything has been placed the only issues that remain are:

Shut down, restart and sleep are not executed ( sleep fixes a brightness issue that might be faced if you use apple trackpad and keyboard controller)

WiFi is not working - a problem that I have solved by purchasing and installing with the appropriate kext a compatible Atheros AR9285/AR9B85 WiFi card ( taken from an HP dv6 that cost me 7 bucks )

If I can be of any help to any of you using the same machine- write me. I hope this topic would not be considered spam of some sort.

Regards to everyone!
