I have a leopard vmware image that works 100%. I tried installing Lion to my external HDD using this guide. Problem is, I can't install because I'm using Leopard and I guess Leopard isn't officially supported to install Lion. I've tried running vmware images of Lion and ML so I can install Lion to my external HDD. I've only been able to boot successfully into 1 ML vmware image. I can now install Lion, however, the ML vmware image can't access my External HDD. I've tried 2 different usb flash drives, but nothing. I can add them to the OS with VMware, but nothing comes up in Finder or Disk utility. The drives are formatted with NTFS. OS X can't write NTFS, but it can read so I should be good. What's up?

EDIT: Formatted it with Macdrive in Windows. Works. Not sure why my Lion image can read NTFS and ML can't.
