nando4
Hi everyone, New to this board, but I can see there's a lot of DSDT expertise here. I'm trying to mod the DSDT ACPI PNP0A03/PNP0A08 entry to extend into 36-bit PCI space. This is necessary for Windows7 to then be able to access any pci-e devices allocated into 36-bit space, something that may be necessary if the system has no 32-bit space left to do it either by having too many devices or having the bios locked TOLUD/TOLD set too high preventing it. This has been done successfully by Avlan's 36-bit DSDT override for a Dell E4300 notebook. Though the method used was by comparison to a Dell Inspiron 1440 whose DSDT already had a 36-bit friendly DSDT table so only a few additional lines were needed. The code to do it is shown too, which is not clear at all. I am attempting to do the same with a Dell E4310 whose DSDT table is at DELL-E43x0-DSDT.rar . It has TOLUD=3.5GB, so there is no 32-bit pci-e space to add any additional external pci-e devices. Any help would be greatly appreciate.
