Ok, so this isn't my first attempt at OSX but I am actually determined to get it working now. Now, this is my first attempt on this computer. I hadn't really messed with OSX86 in over a year and bought this computer Fall of last year.

So, using the Nawcom ModCD and a Retail 10.6.3 I was able to get it installed, but a few issues.

First, let me go over the specs of this computer:

AMD 785G Chipset

Phenom II 521 (Dual Core)

8GB DDR3 (upgraded from 4GB)

750GB HDD

Sata DVD-RW Drive

15-in-1 Card Reader

RaLink 5390 mPCI-E Wireless Network

Realtek RTL8105E GB Ethernet

I upgraded the Integrated Radeon HD4200 to an ATI Radeon 6770 1GB PCI-E Video Card.

So, I haven't messed with the video card yet, but on install here is where I sat:

Boot up only with Nawcom ModCD (hadn't looked into that issue yet)

With Nawcom boot all 8GB Detected

DVD Drive working

Physical LAN Working

Video Card showed ATI but no model number so I suspect it isn't functioning correctly yet either.

The big problem is that I can't get the RaLink adapter to work. I was able to get it to detect, but it wouldn't find any networks. I've done a lot of research and it seems these chips are becoming more and more popular so I would like to get it working.

Any advice is welcome. :)

Well, I'm pleased to announce that using a retail 10.6.3 DVD + Nawcom boot CD I was able to get OSX installed. Then after some research was able to update to 10.6.8.

And finally, after changing my video card from a 6770 to a 5770 in it's Bios I have full graphics.

Sound works, everything works except wifi. :( Still working on that.

Thought I would update this and give some more information on how I installed.

First, I used the Nawcom CD, disabled vodoohda and graphics enabler on boot.

I removed my extra 4GB of ram, knocking me down to 4GB

I reflashed the Bios of my 6770 to have an ID of 5770 for thecard.

I then used Nawcom's CD with a Retail Snow Leapord 10.6.3 to do the install.

Once installed I followed these directions to update to 10.6.8:

Once updated I downloaded the voodohda and installed it.

I ran ###### again to do the iousb fix.

Other than that, I've just been busting my but trying to get the ralink wireless working.

Well, I've given up on the wireless for now. Somewhere in all my playing to try and get it working I messed up the install. :(

Oh, well.

I did send an email to Ralink, but I don't expect a response. I asked if they expect to release a driver that fully supports the RT5390 with a working Wireless Utility.

In the meantime I've been purusing the 1/2 hieght Atheros mPCIe cards on eBay as another option.

Just thought I should update this. Using wired ethernet (nothing done for the Ralink drivers) this system is running extremely well.

The only remaining problem at this point is the fact I can't get the app store to work, I'm still working on that.

Also thanks to todesto in another post for getting it running with 8GB of RAM.

And to add I updated to the latest Nawcom Legacy Kernel. I have MS Office 2011 installed along with ILife.
