SL 10.6 Retail on Asus P5K PRO

Hi all,

 

Following tonymacx86's [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]+[url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] guide i successfully installed SL Retail on my PC.

 

After install, like the guide says, i run 10.6.8 update combo and by [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] i have installed [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url].

 

By that i successfully boot SL from HD, but after 10.6.8 udpdate combo, the audio stops to work, and i must install voodoo kext from [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] to make it work again.

 

I have also install the network card by put the kext in /Extra/Extensions

 

Noob question: it's right to not personalize the "[url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]" cd before install SL? i just download and use [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] from tonymacx86's [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]+[url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] guide and SL was installed without errors. but i was wondering if kexts installed in /Extra/Extensions or wherever by [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] are generic...btw by using it i was able to start, reboot and shutdown the system correctly.

 

By now i'm trying to make my videocard works correctly. i have a Nvidia GeForce 9600GT, since when i install SL system seems to recognize the card and in org.chameleon.Boot.plist i have the "Graphics Enabler=Yes" string

 

i should remove it and try the <key>device-properties</key> <string>(Big string of numbers)</string> way?

using OSX86Tools to make the EFI string by selecting custom graphics card, after writing model name and vram size, the guide says to use nvflash to obtain the right value to put in OSX86Tools when it ask for videocard output configuration...

 

why i can't simply select one of the choices? (2 DVI ports or 1 DVI/1 VGA, etc)

 

help me please, i really need a hint!
