Problems on Abit IP35 Pro - Install error (helpie!)

Hi Guys,

I've got an Abit IP13-Pro with 8gb, Q6600 and Nvidia GT8600 on which I've had SL run succesfully.

(the only thing I noticed recently is that it seemingly has an issue with disk images, which I hadn't noticed before; it sometimes crashes when verifying them).

I've tried installing Lion (cleanly) on another partition via the MyHack installer and Tony's ##### methods, but the installer stops after about 20% stating that 'an error has occured' and it can't continue.

Installing from the SL partition doesn't work either, as it then states that this isn't a valid machine to install it on.

The SL install was relativly smooth, once I figured out to insert pciroot=1 and arch=i386 in the command line, but Lion just won't play ball.

I'm trying to install by booting into the Lion installer with the flags -v -x -s pciroot=1 after which it does start, but stops at 20% install; the target drive is a freshly formatted one.

Mobo is set to ACHI and only 4gb of mem is currently installed; only sata drives are used.

Can anyone help me, pretty please with sugar on top?:)

Cheers,

Joe
